Urogynecology

Caring for women suffering from pelvic floor disorders

Pelvic Floor Disorders, or PFDs, occur when the muscles or connective tissues of the pelvic area in a woman’s body weaken or are injured. The condition leads to symptoms such as urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, and pelvic organ prolapse. Urinary incontinence affects 17 million Americans, of whom 85 percent are women. We offer evaluation, counseling, follow-up and several treatment options that include behavioral techniques, pelvic muscle training, medications and surgery.
Urogynecology

Urogynecology, also known as Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, is a sub-specialty of obstetrics and gynecology that focuses on restoring pelvic floor function. Associates in Women’s Health has a special unit, the Wichita Women’s Pelvic Surgery Center, to treat delicate conditions such as Pelvic Organ Prolapse, Mesh Complications, Stress Urinary Incontinence and Overactive Bladder.
